about

'For No One' catches the listener from the first drum hit, catapulting the tune off into a driving beat, paired with the intro guitar lick like two best friends. The bridge section steps back from that road-tripping, driving vibe for a moment, introducing a more intimate, delicate melody to the lister that portrays a different intimacy from the rest of the song. ‘For No One’ beckons a familiarity and nostalgia, birthed from a feeling of longing to hear the familiar voice or touch of someone who is gone. It was written about the importance and uniqueness of our voices, and about the indescribable impact that people who we are close to in our lives have on us, even long after they’re gone.

lyrics

Took my hand, and you
Lead me down the road
Oh you say you love me but you don't know
Love me but you don't know

Only thing I know for sure
Only thing I know
Only thing I know for sure
Only thing I know

Wanna hear your voice again
Wanna hear your voice again darlin'
Wanna hear your voice again
Wanna hear your voice again honey

For no one
Speaks anymore
Ooh hide them away but words you can't ignore
Hide them away but words you can't ignore

Cat's cradle and a silver moon
Only thing I know
Cat's cradle and a silver moon
Only thing I know

Wanna hear your voice again
Wanna hear your voice again honey
Wanna hear your voice again
Wanna hear your voice again darlin

Oh baby baby I miss you
Oh baby baby I do
Oh baby baby I miss you
Oh baby baby I do!

Wanna hear your voice again...
